Last week I visited Lanesfield Primary School in my constituency.

They received a ‘good’ Ofsted rating this year and I’m pleased that the school is going from strength to strength.

Ofsted said that pupils make good progress, which is reflected in the standards reached at the end of Year 6, with the proportion of children reaching the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics above average.

It was great to meet the head teacher Mrs Rollinson and talk through some of the successes and challenges of the school.
