I give praise to Wolverhampton City Council for cracking down on fly tipping in the Blakenhall area, including their seizure and crushing of a car used for fly tipping.

Fly tipping is totally irresponsible and has caused huge frustration and anger in the Blakenhall area.  The people who do this are making life worse for their neighbours and denigrating our city.  Local residents are glad the council is getting tougher and we want them to persist with this crack down.

Last year we worked to get a huge area of fly tipping near St Luke’s school cleared away but within a short time it had been used once again for fly tipping.  We have to get the message across to everyone that the city won’t stand for this and the recent tougher measures from the council are a good step towards this.

This weekend, I joined residents in Blakenhall for a community clean up.
