I want to thank everyone who came to the climate change lobby in Parliament. It was a powerful display of nationwide concern about the planet and what we must do in order to cherish and preserve it for future generations. There is much to be positive about in the UK’s record on these issues. We have invested heavily in renewable energy which forms a significant proportion of our electricity generation. We have good legislation in place and we have worked hard internationally to secure global agreements on greenhouse gas emissions.
But we need to do more in transport, construction and other fields and we need to continue to have a strong international voice on these issues. I enjoyed meeting the delegation from Wolverhampton and we had a good discussion covering cars, solar panels, aviation and legislation.
