I woke today to the very sad news that Major Singh Jawanda, owner of Lakshmi Sweet Centre, has died. Major Singh was a good friend, a warm and lovely man who had built up his business in Dudley Road over many years. Starting in a small corner shop he invested in the new restaurant with function suite a few years ago. He always gave a warm welcome to all his customers and was known for great tasting and high quality food. I took many friends there over the years. I will miss him greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family. May he rest in peace.
