The Prime Minister has written to Pat praising the project and singling it out as a positive example for the rest of the country to follow on the day London Mayor Ken Livingstone is in India promoting similar links for London.

The Prime Minister commends what he describes as a “great partnership” and says, “initiatives such as the Wolverhampton India Project are an excellent way in which to help and encourage trade and investment in both directions between our two countries”.

The Prime Minister also says, “The UK has a great deal to offer India and cultural and sporting links between Wolverhampton and Punjab in particular provide a natural link”
