Coseley residents have been infuriated by the announcement that Dudley Conservatives have gone back on their word and resurrected their proposal to put a travellers’ site on Budden Road.

Pat McFadden MP said, “This is a betrayal of the people of Coseley. My previous intervention helped to delay this proposal so that there could be a proper review of where such a camp should be put. The Tories promised they would not return to the Budden Road proposal and have gone back on their word. They should find a site that is better suited to this proposal and one that does not have to be bulldozed through in the teeth of local opposition.”

Councillor Sue Ridney said, “All three local councillors are vehemently opposed to the Budden Road land being used for this purpose. We have made that clear all the way through. The Tories have let down the people of Coseley by returning to a proposal they promised had been abandoned.”
