On Friday, I met with a local youth group from the charitable organisation ‘Square Pegs Round Holes’.

‘Square Pegs Round Holes’ work with young people across Wolverhampton to enable them to have a bigger voice, participate in decision-making processes and advocate on their behalf.

I spoke to the young people about the role of an MP; what we do in Parliament and in the constituency on a day-to-day basis.
There were some other young people that proposed questions via Skype during the event.

The young people grilled me on many topics including; Brexit, Carillion, employment and benefits. It was great to hear how passionate the young people are about issues that affect their lives but also to hear about their aspirations for the future.

I think they were mostly impressed with my knowledge of grime artist ‘Stormzy’!

I’d like to thank the young people that took part in the event and to Angela, Debbie and Simeon from Square Pegs Round Holes.
