On Friday, I hosted my annual utilities advice day where I invited a range of energy providers, charitable organisations and local constituents with the aim of saving them some money on their energy bills.

Pictured with me below are Sandra and Alan Evans from Coseley. At the event, they managed to switch providers and make an annual saving of £168. Alan commented, “I’m really glad I came down today, we’ve managed to switch providers and save £168. A big thanks to Pat!”

I don’t favour any of the individual energy companies, I just want to get my constituents the best deal possible. I know some people fear using their heating as much as they should because of the cost and the reason that I organise this annual event is to ensure local people get the best possible deal just like Alan and Sandra.

The event took place at Bilston Town Hall, and as well as some of the big players in energy there were also many smaller local energy and advice companies including; Bilston Energy Centre, Energy Angels, Wolverhampton Homes and Age UK Wolverhampton. All of the representatives were on hand to give local residents free practical advice and tools on how they can save money on their energy this winter!

I’d like to thank all the energy companies and charitable organisations that came to the event to offer their invaluable advice. I’d also like to thank the constituents that attended and hope they managed to save some money on their bills. A final thank you to Bilston Town Hall for the venue and Revolver Coffee for providing the event with delicious Fair Trade Coffee.
