PAT'S SPEECH TO THE LABOUR PARTY CONFERENCE 2009

On Sunday 27th September Pat McFadden MP addressed the Labour Party Conference in Brighton as Chair of the Labour Party’s National Policy Forum.

Pat talked about the new regulations which came in to force this week which will make it illegal for service workers to be paid the National Minimum Wage made up by the tips which the public leave them. The public expect that when they leave a tip for good service, it goes to the wait staff on top of their basic pay, not as a contribution to it.

Pat also announced that over the next three years the Government would aim to create 20,000 apprenticeships through the contracts which Government awards to companies all over the country.
