PMQs: My Verdict 21/02/2018

My question of the week from PMQs this week goes to Anna Turley, the brilliant MP for Redcar.

She raised the issue of cuts to policing and I think she hit the nail on the head when she refuted the Prime Minister's claim that this is all down to local police commissioners. You simply cannot cut that amount of money from the police budget, get rid of 20,000 officers in the last seven years and blame local commissioners. It doesn't wash, if we're going to protect the public then you have to fund the police force properly and that must mean help from Central Government.
