We have one week to go in this election campaign.

The effort put in by local party members, constituents, fellow MPs and supporters has been fantastic. We have knocked on thousands of doors – certainly more than any other election in my 12 years as the MP – and delivered tens of thousands of leaflets and direct mail letters. But for all our efforts so far, it’s the next seven days that are the most important.

Our third leaflet will arrive today from the printers, and it hammers home the threat from the Tory manifesto to our constituents – the threat to winter fuel payments, pensions, the value of homes, and the threat to families with young children who will be hit by the withdrawal of free school meals for infants.

Over the next seven days I need your help to get this message across to the public. We will be getting out our new leaflet and our direct mail letter to potential Labour voters every day between now and polling day.

We will be campaigning every day at 11am and 6pm, meeting at the constituency office, Broad St, Bilston WV14 0BZ. But with delivering you can drop by anytime, or call us and we will deliver the leaflets to you with a map showing where they should be delivered.

And we are making a special effort for Super Saturday 5 this coming Saturday, June 3rd. We will make a big push at 11am on Saturday to get out our final leaflet. If you can help, even for an hour on Saturday, please come to the office at 11am.

We also need help for polling day (8th June) to help get our vote out. A good polling day operation is essential to getting a good result. If you can help us on polling day, please sign up here; http://www.patmcfadden.com/volunteer

The Tories called this election because they thought they could have a procession to power. We have seven days to prove that partisan calculation wrong.
