Pat McFadden MP attended Wolves Pride this weekend for their biggest event to date.

Over 6,000 free tickets were sold for the occasion, which celebrated the City of Wolverhampton’s diverse community.

The event featured a broad range of music, live entertainment and performers, as well as a fantastic range of street food, bars, information stands, merchandise stalls, and a family area with fun activities for the children -; including the ‘Big Howl’ Guinness World Record attempt.

The newly-formed Wolverhampton LGBT Alliance hosted the event, with support from City of Wolverhampton Council, University of Wolverhampton and Wolverhampton Homes.

Pat McFadden MP commented, “I had a great time at Wolves Pride this weekend, the sun was shining and it was great to see people of all ages celebrating our diverse community. This is the fifth annual Pride event which I have attended in the city and the message I felt at Wolves Pride on Saturday was ‘everyone is welcome’.”

The Wolverhampton LGBT Alliance celebration, supported by City of Wolverhampton Council, University of Wolverhampton and Wolverhampton Homes, played host to an attempt to get the most number of people wolf howling continuously for a minute.

The main tent at the city centre festival saw 1,004 people take part, with the official record currently standing at 803 by Great Wolf Lodge, set at Niagara Falls on July 1, 2017, as part of the 150th Canada Day.

Independent adjudicators confirmed the bid on the day and organisers must now wait for it to be processed by Guinness World Records to see if it is officially verified.
