3 weeks ago, multi-award winning children’s author Jeremy Strong officially opened a new £100,000 library containing 8,000 books as part of a two-day reading celebration at East Park Academy.
And last week Pat McFadden MP spent time at the same school browsing the books and reading with the children there. Pat said, “The new library is a fantastic facility and a great hub for learning for the children at the school. I am really pleased that this school (in my constituency) has invested in such an important resource to further develop learning for the children there. The children were really excited to tell me about their favourite books and authors.”
Head teacher Haley Guest said: “We have invested £100,000 in the new school library and it has become a much-loved place for our children to go and discover books and the joy of reading. Just like us, the children are very proud of it.”
Jeremy Strong also commented: “It was great to visit this brilliant and bubbly school. It was especially marvellous to officially open the new library and to see a school investing in such an important resource.”
