There is nothing more important than giving children the best possible start in life.

And that’s what good nursery schools can do. The influence they can have on children in the early years can benefit them for the rest of their lives. I am hugely grateful to the nursery schools we have in my constituency. Phoenix nursery in Blakenhall was recently rated “good” by Ofsted and is doing an excellent job for local families. I really enjoyed my visit, hearing how the nursery is learning from best practice in Sweden and elsewhere so they can do an even better job in the future.
