A few weeks ago, I met with Wolverhampton Homes’ Money Advice Team.
They do a fantastic job in supporting their tenants and customers who are experiencing financial difficulties.
Unfortunately, since the roll-out of Universal Credit, there has been a rise in tenants falling in to arrears. There is a five-week waiting period for tenants who are moved on to Universal Credit, which leaves many of them with no means to pay their rent for five weeks.
The money smart team are doing a wonderful job whilst having to work within this appalling climate. They also offer advice on how to save money on energy bills, saving many residents lots of money each month.
